The Itinerary

Welcome to Vietnam
Settle into Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, a city where French and Chinese history still lives in the architecture and the streets. The rest of the day is yours to wander at your own pace, among the hum of scooters, steaming noodle stands, and lively local markets.

Hanoi Through Time
Spend the day tracing Hanoi's past with a guide, visiting the home of Ho Chi Minh and Hoa Lo Prison, the site known as the "Hanoi Hilton." End the day with a bicycle rickshaw ride through the Old Quarter, a fitting close to a day spent in the city's history.

Into Ha Long Bay
Travel to the coast and board the Heritage Line Violet for a night on Ha Long Bay. Spend the afternoon on deck as limestone islands rise from the water, and stay out for sunset.

Sunrise on the Bay
Greet the morning with tai chi on deck, surrounded by the islands of the bay. After returning to port, fly south to Ho Chi Minh City.

Flavors & Landmarks of Saigon
Head out early by bicycle rickshaw as the city comes to life, then stop for a bowl of pho at a local favorite. A local chef teaches you to make banh xeo, a Vietnamese pancake, before an afternoon at Reunification Palace and a Cao Dai temple.

Tunnels & Street Food
Descend into the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground network used during the Vietnam War, for a morning of history. By night, the city takes over, as a local guide leads you through Saigon's street food scene, paired with local craft beer.

Gateway to Angkor
Fly to Siem Reap, your base for exploring the temples of Angkor. This evening, dinner becomes an experience of its own, moving through town with each course served at a different stop.

Temples in the Jungle
Explore Ta Prohm, where trees grow right through the temple walls, then continue to Angkor Thom, the last capital of the Khmer kingdom. End at Bayon, known for the smiling faces carved in its stone towers.

Angkor Wat at Sunrise
Rise early to watch the sun come up over Angkor Wat, then tour the temple with a local expert. In the afternoon, visit a local community and the clean water project that serves it before flying to Luang Prabang.

Waterfalls & Royal History
Begin at the blue pools of Kuang Si Falls, then return to Luang Prabang for the Royal Palace Museum. Walk the back streets to Heuan Chan Heritage House for tea in the garden, see the famous mosaic at Wat Xieng Thong, and end the day with a sunset cruise on the Mekong River.

Traditions of Laos
Wake at dawn to join locals in offering food to the town's Buddhist monks. Later, a local family welcomes you into their home for a traditional Lao blessing ceremony before your flight to Bangkok.

Bangkok's Royal Palace
Tour the Grand Palace, once home to Thailand's kings and still home to the Emerald Buddha. Then ride a tuk tuk to Wat Pho to see the giant Reclining Buddha.
