Southern Africa's great rivers and abundant wildlife take center stage on this classic safari, from the majestic Victoria Falls to the winding channels of the Okavango Delta and the Chobe River. Moving from river to wetland to open plain, each stop unveils a new landscape and a new way to discover its natural wonders.
Linger over a sunset cruise on the Upper Zambezi, drift silently through the delta in a guided mokoro, and set out on game drives across sweeping plains. A boat safari along the Chobe River brings the water's edge into close view, with animals gathering along its banks. After each day's adventure, retreat to intimate camps and lodges, where evenings are made for unwinding by the fire and sharing stories of the day's encounters.

Day 1
Welcome to South Africa
Johannesburg, South Africa
Arrive in Johannesburg, the dynamic "City of Gold," now one of Africa's most vibrant cities. Settle into your hotel and spend the evening at your own pace, with a lively food and arts scene close at hand.
Day 2
Cruise Above Victoria Falls
Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Fly to Victoria Falls and settle into your lodge on the Zimbabwe side. In the evening, cruise the Zambezi River above the falls at sunset while your guide points out wildlife along the banks.
Day 3
The Smoke That Thunders
Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe
Walk the paths facing Victoria Falls with a private guide as the Zambezi River plunges more than 350 feet into the gorge below. Feel the mist and look for rainbows in the spray, with the afternoon free to relax.
Day 4
Into the Okavango Delta
Okavango Delta, Botswana
Travel into Botswana and board a small plane for the flight over the Okavango Delta to Jao Camp. After lunch, head out on your first game drive through one of Africa's great wildlife areas.
Day 5
Life on the Water
Okavango Delta, Botswana
Glide through the delta's quiet channels in a mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe, when water levels allow. Trade a game drive for a bush walk with your guide and tracker, keeping an eye out for red lechwe, an antelope built for the wetlands.
Day 6
Boat Safari on the Chobe River
Chobe National Park, Botswana
Fly to Chobe Game Lodge, your home for the final three nights. In the afternoon, take a boat safari along the Chobe River, where elephants and hippos gather at the water's edge.
Days 7–8
Wild Chobe
Chobe National Park, Botswana
Spend two full days exploring Chobe National Park with your guide on open vehicle game drives. On your last evening, raise a toast to the journey back at the lodge.
Day 9
Trip Comes to an End
Johannesburg, South Africa
After breakfast, your journey comes to a close as you fly to Johannesburg to connect with your flight home.
