Luxury Travel to the Arctic & Antarctica

Explore the Arctic & Antarctica

I've Made the Crossing Myself

Antarctica is the one trip that leaves even seasoned travelers lost for words. I have made the crossing myself, and nothing quite prepares you for the scale of it: the silence, the ice, the wildlife that has no reason to fear you. It is the reason I now plan these voyages for other people.

The Arctic is the other half of the story, and expedition cruising there has quietly become one of the most sought-after journeys I sell: Svalbard and the polar bears, the fjords of Greenland, the midnight sun. Both poles are specialist, cabin-limited and booked a long way ahead, which is exactly where an advisor earns their place.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best time to go to Antarctica?+

The Antarctic season runs from roughly November to March, the southern summer. Early season brings pristine snow and courting penguins; midseason has penguin chicks and the best overall conditions; late season is the prime time for whales. Which suits you depends on what you most want to see.

Do I have to cross the Drake Passage?+

Not necessarily. Many voyages now offer a fly-the-Drake option, flying between Punta Arenas and the Peninsula instead of sailing the two-day crossing each way. It costs more and saves days at sea, and it is a good fit for travelers short on time or wary of the swell.

How far ahead should I book?+

A year or more for the best ships and cabins, and for the specialist departures. Polar expedition cruising is strictly cabin-limited, and the good voyages sell out well in advance. If you have a season in mind, the earlier we talk, the better the choice.
